Maui’s Neighborhoods: Wailea

Wailea Maui

Wailea runs along the island of Maui’s southern coast, which expands over 4,800 acres, and provides beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. There are many popular beaches that exist in this oceanfront town.

Because the weather is nearly perfect year-round, Wailea provides a well-suited setting for many of the most luxurious resorts on Maui, including the Four Seasons Resort Maui and the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel. Within the resorts are incredible restaurants. Living in Wailea affords many dining choices and opportunities to enjoy the relaxing atmospheres that the restaurants have to offer.

The shops inside the hotels and The Shops at Wailea are of the highest quality. They offer boutiques, art galleries, jewelry, and gift shops featuring the latest trends as well as classic everyday wear.

Golf is a very big draw for people visiting the area. The Wailea Golf Club has three courses to choose from, which are the Emerald, Gold and Blue courses. People come from all around the world to have the opportunity to play these courses.

For families with children, the local schools are in the Kihei area with preschool and intermediate facilities. There are both private and public schools to choose from.

For a church experience, there is a lovely old Hawaiian Church on Makena Road in Makena, which is down the road from Wailea. The church is called Keawala’i Congregational Church. The service is given in Hawaiian and is quite a treat to attend. It is a beautiful setting and you will not be disappointed.

Wailea is an upscale community that borders the ocean, and as a result almost all of the homes in Wailea are within walking distance of the ocean. Wailea is a luxury resort community with executive homes and beautiful condominiums. Every neighborhood in Wailea is a gated community. Also, Wailea is known for having a very strong sense of community.
